SCT Tuner not programming rev limits and shift points

SCT Tuner not programming rev limits. So the stock 6.0 Excursion has a rev limiter at about 3700 stock and shifts around 3500 on wide open throttle. When I installed the SCT tuner Xcal2, the rev limiter cuts out around 3500 and at first I thought it was the transmission but have now found out it is just the rev limiter cutting it out before it hits peak power and can shift. I have tried to raise the rev limiter to 4500 RPM just to see what would happen and it does the same thing and cuts out at 3500 RPM and I can't figure it out for the life of me. It seems that something is interfeering with the install or something but it has done it with 2 different tuners. The power is great but I have to really shift way prematurely to get it to shift to the next gear without popping and snapping from the rev limiter. Has anyone had a similar situation and know the problem?

I don't think you'd want a stock motor shifting at 4500, just my .02. I *think* the peak HP/TQ starts dropping off at around 3k or so, can't remember exactly. Maybe somebody else will chime in.

No, you don't want it to shift at 4500. That would not be good. I raised the limit to see if it would go past 3500.

I thought the motor was only designed to rev to 4200 anyway?
