1987 f250 fuel delivery problem; no fuel delivered

After setting for 4 years. i filled it up with gasoline (460 ci) would not start. mannually primed the carb and it started. replaced accelerator pump on carb because it was leaking. started it up again. ran fine for about 15 min. then died. no fuel getting to filter. no power getting to pumps. fuses are good under the dash. is there a fuel sending unit i could check, or relay, or what?

most Ford trucks have a fuel pump reset switch you'll find info on it in the owners manual and on the under hood sticker that's the first thing I would look at

I'd look for a relay in the power box on the driver's fenderwell, too. I don't know if this is how the truck is equipped, or not.

If it came from the factory with a carburetor, and I think the 1987 460 did, it probably has a mechanical fuel pump driven by the camshaft on the side of the block, lower front end of engine. Follow the gas line that hooks to the carburetor down and that should be the first thing it hooks to. I could be wrong here.

Gets my vote. Make sure you check the engine oil in case the pump diaphram is bad and has dumped fuel into the oil pan.
