GPS on truck?

I have an 07 F-150. I noticed behind the radio is a small box that is sitcky taped and has the numbers 4160A-GSM0108 and it comes up on google as an GPS something. Did someone put a GPS or tracking device on my truck or is it a factory unit?

I don't know. But your local Ford dealer parts department should be able to tell you if you give them those numbers.

EDIT, that is a GPS unit. Did you purchase the truck used?

If so, that is part of a Kenwood in vehicle GPS system.

Correct me if I am wrong. Isn't the GPS Antenna mounted on the roof.
I am thinking of putting one in my truck. If this is true I woun't have to drill any holes.

Ok, So if I don't put in sirius radio I can just install the GPS ant in a space under the dash axcess panel on the right side.
Thank you, Thank you. I don't have to drill a hole.

It depends on the GPS unit & antenna. Some GPS antennas require LOS (line of sight) visibility to at least 3 satellites in order to work.

Its not an antenna, it's the transceiver. The antenna has most likely been removed.

Its the it transmits and recieves the gps satellite information. The unit we are discussing is specifically made for a Kenwood GPS car stereo. There is most likely an antenna mounted on the truck somewhere.
