To add to my previous post...My wife always says I have to get rid of one before bringing one home (to keep the count to less than ten, lol) So I sold the 73 IH truck, the 88 Tbird, and my 78 Bronco. Thought I was doing good, except I ended up buying a '62 fairlane and 2 '49 IH KB2's. So one for one I thought, not bad. However this year I hope to get my uncle's two big F trucks, and that means I have to get rid of 2. I suppose the '85 F150 could be one, and maybe the wife's Blazer as the other. Afterall, she can't complain since I'm only following orders, right?

If I ever got stuck in my garage and the door went down by itself trapping me inside, I'd suffocate from lack of oxygen!!!!
I have duplicates of TONS of stuff. Worst part of it is, I spend money to restor it then put it up on the shelf. With one truck, I have two restored grills (albeit one has five teeth and one only three), two complete sets of dash stuff (glove box door with lock and NEW rating plate, chromes speaker plate - all completely restored and rechromed and ready to install, etc), etc. etc. all new or better shape
Frosty beverages make it better though!

I can't make myself throw away working alt./carb./dist./coils/various switches/bulbs/etc. So you can imagine I won't get rid of decent body parts either. You don't know how many times I go to my own "parts dept." for something. Sometimes, when I'm digging through it for something, I have to chuckle to myself 'cause I know at the estate sale they are going to say "Why did that crazy old man keep all this junk?"

I am a neat freak and still have alot of parts etc.,and always moving crap from one place to another.
I have a theory that if I stack it just right...I can get more in there...haha
I organize parts and trucks nearly every day.
In fact.....that's where I am going now....out to move something.....LOL

Growing up on a farm, I learned form my parents not to throw anything away and fix everything yourself. Fast forward 20 years and my suburban shop is stuffed full of things I might use someday.
I must confess that I have recently had a change of heart. My sister's husband passed away last year and I have watched her struggle to get rid of the stuff he had accumulated. He was a collector, but not of truck parts. Long story short, I have been on a mission lately to clear my shop of all "someday" projects that I know I will never get around to completing. In the past month I've gotten rid of a motorcycle and have a riding mower ready to go. I've got 5 Honda CT70's in various conditions that are next and the list continues. My current plan is to get rid of all the extra stuff so my family won't be left in a similar situation.
The truck parts stay, of course. This sudden change of heart was not accompanied by a total lapse in judgement!

Is there such a thing as "too much stuff" or "too much space to put it in"??.....probabally
but then again it's all relative to each ones situation....I myself want/need more space and more stuff....I hope and plan to collect as much "vintage tin" as I can, b-4 it's all gone....even if it just gets passed down to my kids and keeps the hobby/history alive, for a little while longer. If one can "organize" to a degree, it help's keep things more managable......on the other hand it does help as well, to be somewhat "selective" in what one keeps and how much of "each".................It's kind of like our 460/C-6 that weve been dragging around with us for the past 12 "plus" years and now are finally going to get to use it........well worth the wait!!
