4"-6" Lift?
#16
Doing it yourself is definately the way to go. If you don't have any experience and don't know what you're doing, PERFECT! There's really only one way to learn and that's to get out there and do it.
Take some advice and don't make a deadline for yourself. Things will go wrong and it will take longer than you think! I promise. I remember last new years we put a 6" lift in my cousins Bronco, took off work Friday so we could take it upstate for the weekend for New Years, Our plan was to leave Friday night...... well we made it up by midnight Saturday. So my only point, take your time, don't rush and have fun.

The Bronco lift was about 500 bucks with shipping off ebay. It was a 91 Bronco we lifted. Came with springs, drop brackets, add a leafs and a 4" block for the rear. Also came with a drop pitman arm. Not the highest quality lift I've ever seen. Had some crazy camber problems. I wouldnt reccomend it. Id go with a more expensive Sky Jacker lift.

I just put on the pro comp super duty 6.5'' front springs and my front drive shaft is 1 1/4'' from even touching the yoke fully extended. Pinion angle needs changed and will still have to get shaft lengthed. Any body else have this problem with these springs? How much do they move the axle forward? I can shim the axle a little bit but will be limited due to the u bolt going though front axle. Any help would be appricated.

hello i had a question dont mean to hijack this thread just figured i could keep it going, i just got 6" springs for my 99 superduty, i want to put them on, besides longer ubolts and maybe shiims, breaklines, will i need to lengthen driveshafts also why do i need another pitman arm i have crossover steering so shouldn't it be fine without buying a new one? thanks for any info.

Your front shaft will have to be lengthened for a 4" or a 6" lift. You will be getting real close to having to cut a chunk out of the trans crossmember at 6" for shaft clearance. The back shaft will probably have to be lengthened to be reliable as well. For 4" to 6" you might be able to get away without it for a while if the slip yoke is in real good condition & your not beating on it.
