Painted wheels--wax them?

This just dawned on me... I have factory 18" forged aluminum wheels that are painted in between the 'spoke' openings.

Are we supposed to wax them to keep the clearcoat from being messed up long term?

I have painted steel wheels on a 24yr old Toyota of mine. The paint is all faded/worn off already and it looks like crap.

Would waxing help keep all that brake dust from sticking? My front wheels are always a brown mess after about a couple of weeks of 'normal' driving.

Yup....wax the whole thing. It makes getting the brake dust off easier too just don't use any harsh wheel cleaners.

Ceramic brake pads would fix the dust problem too....
