How do you guys protect your Wheels from winter horror and road salt?

Im worried about my wheels getting damaged from the raods here in cincy when the cities drop thousands of pounds of salt to clear the the snow. Any tricks to protecting my wonderfull investment? Fluid film? Wax? etc.?

I have the silver and black KMC Rockstar wheels... I guess they are painted??? Would basic car wax help protect these or a specific wheel wac work better?

Thanks for all the help! Jaret

Best thing would be to put stock wheels back on for winter. If that's not an option, put a ton of wax on them and keep washing them off and waxing them all winter long.

Wax, and lots of it! First I use the DIY car wash to spray the wax on so it gets in all the nooks and crannies, I also blast the underside for a little extra protection...then I wax by hand when I get home. I put a heavy coat on and let it dry out before buffing it out...thicker is better!

Don't worry so much about a perfect shine, as soon as you pull out of your driveway it goes to $#!t anyway!

There is wheel wax available, I'd use that if you don't want to have to do it as often. It usually goes on thicker and is a harder wax, regular car paint wax comes off easier. Both will work, if you can get the wheel wax, go with it. If not, no big deal, just keep an eye on it.

Just find a steel set off of a xl - I have a set w snowtires mtd & swap them out in late nov. Keeps the alum rims in good shape. Also let's me pick a better dry/ wet traction tire for spring/summer driving. We live in an area that doesn't get a ton of snow but when we do you have to be prepared for it.

Collinite #845 is well thought of. There are an amazing # of wheel waxes out there.
I use Klasse AIO, but just ordered some Collinite for winter wheels.
