First let me say welcome to FTE. Cleatus is correct, the scanner has to be able to read Ford "Enhanced" codes and most scanners cannot.
What kind of problems are you having with your truck? The more info that you can provide on your truck (yr, auto or stick, 2wd or 4wd, what upgrades you have done, etc) and the more info that you can provide on the problem, the better we will be able to help you. So post up your problem and we will see what we can do.

It is a 95 2WD F-250 with a 7.3 and a manual. It's bone stock now but have a lot in the works. It is idling very rough and lacking power. I tried swapping the PCM with one for an auto trans, it fixed all the motor problems but wouldnt work with my tranny.
As for the computer I was using, it is the one ford techs use that works off a lap-top.

If you are sure the computer is working O.K. (try it on another truck to make sure) and the PCM that you swapped into your truck fixed the problems, then yes it sounds like you PCM went south on you.
You might try: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and look for a 97 PCM (updated programming) for a manual trans truck. I have found several close by and they were all good ones. Most salvage places will give you a return grace period on them, so if it does not work you can take it back (make sure you ask about this before you buy a used one).
There are several places that sell reman units. I don't have acess to my list now but I sure someone will post up with palces to get them.

Found this one on Car-Parts: 1997 Engine Computer Ford Truck F350 not Super Duty; US Price $100; Stock# MRS71436; http://www.greenleafauto.com/locations.aspx; USA-FL(Tampa); 1-800-282-4283. I just picked this PCM: "Elec Cont Unit (ECU), (R side eng comp), 8-445 (7.3L, diesel), engine control, MT, std emis (Fed), ID F7TF-12A650-SB "
There were others in the Southeast, just do a search for 1997; Ford F250 not Super Duty (1999 and down); Engine Computer, then pick any of the four "MT, std emis (Fed), ID" numbers. Good Luck.
