Bed or Cab loose off road

Every time I drive my 2000 SD extended cab on any kind of off road get lound banging sound like bed is loose. Check bed bolts they all seem to be tight. Checked cab bolts seem fine but not sure what I am looking for. Put long 2x4 between bed and frame and can't seem to get it to move. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check your swaybar link ends for bad bushings. Does the sound seem to be under the floorpan?

Welcome to FTE.

Also check the spare tire. Sometimes they get loose and it sounds like the bed is comming off.

Energy Suspension makes a kit. Also check out the front page of this site for a detailed write up on replacing the bushing.

You were all right

Thanks guys. Sway bar bushings were toast. Spare tire was to low. Cab mounting bolt loose but couldn't tighten. Need new bolts and bushings. Front shock bolts wore. Replaced the shocks and bolts. Had a hard time finding the bolts.
