has anyone added a capacitor to your factory amp? i know how to install but would it be any different then adding it to an aftermarket amp? and where does ford hide the amp? im assuming its under the center console.

the amp is on the bottom of the factory sub box.

Why would you need a capacitor for the factory system, it's not like it draws/produces major wattage?

in that situation, maybe the optima will help.

The capacitor just stores a little bit of power to supplement the car's power system during peak amp draws, like when the low bass hits, and will help to prevent your headlights from dimming during those low bass hits. I only noticed a little bit of difference the last time I used a capacitor over 10 years ago when I was a basshead.

With the car off, I would think you would drain any reserve power left in the capacitor fairly quickly.

i agree with the optima setup...i believe a yellow top is what you want. A cap only levels out the "punches" to the system so it is more or less a filter to the power system but i dont think that it would do anything with the car off and the alternator not running. A deep cycle battery like the yellow top will suit your needs much better. imo

Yea. I aggree. I have a 600W system and it does not drain after 20min. Get yourself a good deep cycle battery.

definately battery. a stock system will never draw enough to make the expense and hassel of a cap worthwhile...
