diffs from a 90' F350 to a 78' F350

will they bolt up? heard they wouldnt cause the frame is wider on the new fords, looking at taking the diffs from my 1990 f350 parts truck and throwing them in a 1978 f350.. i got the high pinion dana 60 front axle, and 10.25 sterling in the rear, also have a spare dana 60 rear aswell.. also have 10" springs im gonna throw in there aswell any input on if all this will bolt up to the 78' would be great.

thanks

you'll have to change out your front perches, SKY-Manufacturing might have something.

A recent post about this-some good info!
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...0-highboy.html

Basically no-the newer D60 fronts aren't a bolt in.

The 10.25 Sterling is a beast-nice options stock, and stronger than alot of D60 rears.

Also some good info!

Here is a late axle in a 79 truck. Some people should not be allowed to hold tools.
If you decide to stay with leaf springs, this install is a little toughr than most will admit.

Cruise around in my album there and see the rest of the great fab work performed by this dentside owner and hi great ideas of installing a later model axle.
