BTW on the popping note if you can't find the problem listed above try loosening the skid plate and putting a piece of rubbber in there such as floor mat or innertube etc. and tighten it back up. The dealer did that to mine when it was new as a 'fix'. Hmmm.

Sounds like a spring bushing to me, or the wheel knuckle moving to me.
Ball joints seem like a piece to me that can possibly wear out in one position and only cause problems when doing things like turning. So the wheel shifts while you turn. Just like the ole radius arm bracket pop.
When them brackets get old, you'll get annoying pops like that though the stearing system when the radius arm moves around.

10-4 on that. I just had my bumper off to install the 6.oh cooler. Man are my spring and hangar bushings worn. Any recommendations on where to get new ones?

Rubber bushings on the leaf springs I went to Firestone and had it done.
