dumb question tranny cooler lines

stock tranny cooler hard lines are 5/16". the hose that came with my tranny cooler is 21/64" which is slightly larger, and the fitting on the cooler is a 3/8" barbed fitting.

Is this hose too large for the hard lines or will I need a reducer?

Just want to be sure I can finish the job without having to go back to the hardware store again.
