Post eec-V disabling or resetting the speed limit

All,

Is it possible to either set to a higher value or disable this feature thru the OBDC data port under the steering colum?

I am trying to avoid the use of a chip.

I work with HVAC inductrial process controls. Typically, EPROM apps allow the user to disable certain safeties, I do not know if this applies with ford's EEC-V or not.

Thanks for your help

No, it must be done with a tuner or chip.

Where do you live/what roads
do you drive at what times, as
I don't want to be anywhere near
any place you might be while you're
travelling over the posted limit
on truck tires...

The speed limit code is not instaled because of the power or drivetrain. it is not installed to keep you from over the posted speed limit. It is installed to keep your tires in one piece. if you go over 110-120 for even a short period of time you can kiss the tires good bye, along with your car and the lives of everyone on board.

Depending on your tires of course.
if its lowered with v rated or z rated tires they arent gonna explode.

Rand

(i agree with you for q rated tires) however do you realise even crappy s rated tires are 112 mph?

Yeah, with the "S" rating you can go 112mph,
but are you silly enough to do that?? You do
know about tread squirm, right??

Fun facts to know and tell...
P - 93 MPH
Q - 99 MPH
S - 112 MPH
T - 118 MPH
U - 124 MPH
H - 130 MPH
V - 149 MPH
W - 168 MPH
Y - 186 MPH
Z - 149+ MPH

How can tell the rating on your tires? I have a 2002 Ranger with Good Year Wrangler RT/S P245/75R16 109S

Does that put me in the P catagory or the S catagory for speed rating?

actually you could reprogram the ECM all it is is an E^2 but the problem is you would need a computer and the frod program also i think it is date stamped so if your under warrenty it may void your warrenty.
