What is this plug for?

What is this plug for in the photo. It's the one on the right with two wires. There is nothing plugged into it. It is behind the kick panel to the front of the passenger side door.

I have no idea. I haven't even had that kick panel off yet.

And which way does it go from there TJ?
Is it a power source or is it going up to roof?

I've noticed that plug on my F-150. I'll have to take that panel off my F-250 that has clearance lights and see where it goes.

Should be source. If you don't have lights then the wiring doesn't go up to the roof

Yep, there's a harness going back up on my 97. There's also some insulation behind the trim panel that my 95 F-150 doesn't have. Is this a diesel thing, or a 97 thing?

The diesels have more insulation in the cab than gassers to keep engine noise out. Not sure if that is one of those things or not.

Its the source. Black is hot with running lights, brown in ground. pretty sure double check before quoting me I have not checked it in years. if the truck has factory cab lights it runs up the passenger side A pillar to the lights, from this plug. I have used this when installing mine and others. alot easier then pulling dash apart and tapping wires.
