1997 F-150 Power Window

I have a 1997 F-150 Ext. cab and the driver side power window won't go down. I checked the switch with an ohm meter and it checked out fine. I even got another switch out of a junk yard and it does the same thing. I can operate the passenger side window from the both the driver side and passenger side switches. I checked the voltage on the two wires going into the motor and I get voltage reading of approx. 10.5 votls when rock the switch in the upward position but I don't get any voltage when I rock the switch in the downward motion. I checked the passenger side at the same location and i read the same voltage when the switch is rocked in either direction. I am measuring across the two wires. Any help / suggestions is greatly appreciated. I am a new member and was trying to make a new post earlier and put something up on another post (2009 ford) that looks a lot like this one. I apologize for any confusion. Thanks!

Welcome to FTE BlueOvals! I am not sure what your problem is exactly. Seeing some other threads on power windows not working, people have had trouble with motors. Some can get them to work by smacking the motor with the switch applied in the nonfunctional direction. Usually if this works, the motor is shot. You could also have a lubrication problem with the tracks and slides. Good luck!

What are you using to lube the tracks and slides?

based on what you had said if the window works from the passenger side but not the drivers then it is a wiring problem somewhere. Take the switch and test for continuity in both the up and down positions then check any visable wire and see if you see a problem. if you can figure out what wire is up and what one is down you could maybe try to jump them with a short wire and see if anything happens.
