Headlight lowering Kit??? or solving my problem

my headlights are 11inches over the legal limit..

Any ideas on how to remedy that ? via dot approved fog lights or something ?

It's going to depend on your state. You might be able to get away with just installing lights in the bumper, but you may have to disable/remove the ones above the limit to comply.

A friend of mine did a custom truck, the floor boards are almost 6.5' off the ground. He built a tall bumper and installed the stock headlights in it. It was an older chevy with square lights which made life a little easier.

The only other thing you may want to ask about is the height of the turn signals. You may need to put some ambers in the bumper too.

Get you some of those snowplow headlights to mount under your bumper. I'm sure those are DOT approved, and they have turn signals on them already. If your good at fabwork, you could mount them on some actuators or something so they are hidden behind the bumper in the daytime and swing down at night since I know they aren't the most attractive setup.

Once you lower the headlights, they will get you for frame height being too high. The maximum limit in California is 31" so measure your frame because it looks like it is over that.

I've been through it all with other lifted trucks in California, if the officer wants to get you then he will just keep finding other items to write you up for such as Frame height, mudflaps not big enough, tires sticking out too far past the fender, fog lights too high, tinted windows, and if you comply with all those they try to write you up for an unsafe vehicle!

Sorry to rant and rave, but just double check everything!!!
