O5' Headlight switch bulb

My 2005 F-250 has a burned out bulb on the dash for the headlight switch. The bulb illuminates the icons that indicate the location of the dash light switch. Has anyone had to replace theirs yet? I've got the switch apart, and the bulb is soldered to the circuit board that has the dash light dimmer switch on it too. I've checked with a couple of Ford dealers and an Auto Zone, no one shows the bulb being separte. Ford wants any where from $54.85 to $68.51 for the switch! If anyone knows what type of bulb this is, I'd attempt to solder the new one in myself...what can I lose, the bulb don't work anyway.
thanx,
dano

i had the same problem on my 2005 but couldnt get the switch housing apart without breaking it. i ended up just shelling out the money for a new switch and it works great now. just plug and play.

vlietracer64,
I got the dash and switch tore apart on my truck okay, and even took pictures, just got to figure out how to move them from the file I keep them in to post along with my question. The 05 was pretty easy to take apart. The switch (not automatic and all that) came apart relatively easy. The whole switch assembly is attached to the dash by three metal spring tabs, then the actual headlight switch separates from that by two plastic tabs on top of the switch, they are next to each other. Then the panel dimmer switch just pulled out of the housing. That is the part that has the bulb soldered to it. When pulling that part of the switch out, I had to use a little blunt instrument to push on the plug terminals in the back to help get it out, from there it just slid in and out with ease...that is if it is the same as the 05's
