Upgrading speakers

I am looking at putting in some better quality speakers then the crap stock ones I have in now, I currently have the single CD player. My dad has Memphis I5-MSYNC6 speakers in all four corners and a Pioneer DEH-3000IB Cd player/AM/FM unit in front<o></o>

Listening to his it sounds 10X better then my stock stereo/speakers….nice and clear no tearing or popping.<o></o>

What other good brands are out there for speakers and stereo units? <o></o>

Also what if I just change out the speakers and not the stereo?

Thanks
<o></o>

Most any aftermarket mid-priced speaker will be better than the stockers. For direct replacement I prefer the Polk Audio db571 coaxial myself.

Ok, I am looking at crutchfield.com and see the polk audio db571's

They have them in 5x7 for 49.99 and the 6x8's are 99.99....specs are the same with both and the website says both will fit.....is this right?

Ford FX4- check out Xollex thread- there's several comments about various speakers. Kickers and Polks seem to work nicely in our trucks.

I just ordered the Pioneer DEH-2900mp head unit along with audio polk's db571's on all the corners. I know it's not top of the line but should sound a ton better over the stockers. Should get them by the end of next week and get everything installed over the weekend.
