Need help with 16.5" wheel set up!!!
I have an original 72 Ford High Boy F250 4x4 that came stock with 16.5" wheels. I have 35"x12.5"x16.5" BFG A/T's on it now and can not get them any more. I either have to change to a 15" wheel or a 17" wheel.
17" wheel means the price of the tires goes up from $160 (for a 15") to $230 for a 17". I would rather lower cost if possible, of course.
I have a Dana 60 in the rear and a Dana 44 in front with drum brakes all around with an 8 bolt pattern.
The question is, will I have a problem if I run a 15" wheel instead of the 17"?
My truck is 5500# and I do bring down a cord of wood at a time, off the mountian every year. Can I go with a 15" rim and if I do, who's should I get?
Thank-you for your input.

Ford offered three 16" wheel sizes for tubeless tires 1953/79.
16 x 5 / 16.5 x 6 / 16.5 x 6.75.
Ford didn't offer a 15" wheel with the F250's 8 lug 6.50" bolt pattern.
The only 17" wheel Ford offered with the 8 lug 6.50" bolt pattern > >
B 8 D-1015-A .. 17" Wheel = 8 lug / 17.5" x 5.25" / 1957/66 F250

Thanks for that info.
I am not concerned with keeping the truck stock as I have already changed the engine from a 360 to a 390 with lots of other Mods.
What I need to know is can I get a 15" wheel that will handle the load ratio or do I have to go up to a 17" wheel?
WM1895? Did I purchase something from you on gunbroker? I frequent:

I did contact someone in Idaho named Rod about having some holsters made for my Merwins and #3 Smith's. Haven't got around to doing anything yet. One of the Merwins has its original Merwin & Bray Mexican Loop holster. From the looks of it, it's prolly been with the gun since 1880. email me off FTE, I'll send you a picture.
