16.5 inch Factory Wheels
I have 8 Ford factory 16.5" aluminum wheels in the turbine pattern. 4 have 12.50 x 31 x 16.5 Goodyear tires and 4 have 9.50 x 31 x 16.5 Big O tires - - all very old & weather checked. Are there any recommendations for tires other than the BF Goodrich All-Terrain? Any suggestions what to do with the wheels if I get 16" wheels? Thanks!

Ck out Summitracing.com and 4wheelparts.com for tire options, 16.5's are not really being mass reproduced other than by BGF, I think?
Nothing wrong with that tire, I run 35x12.50x16.5's BGF AT's on ol blue.
There are the military takeoffs....36x12.50x16.5 bias ply Good Year Wrangler MT II, 37x12.50 Goodyear AT (radial) and Goodyear MT's, MTR's & BFG Baja T/A's.
If you get 16's (for better overall tire options), put the rims on the FTE classifieds or the local Craigslist. I shipped a set of 10" wide 16.5 aluminium old style rims like that from Mo to KY was about $120 total just for shipping.

16.5 inch wheels!! That's what I had on my F350. Treads started separating so, obviously, time to replace. I went to 3 tire suppliers. Tires were referred to as "oddball" tires. All 3 places told me the same thing: only Firestone still makes that tire !! $275 a piece plus shipping if your in a hurry! Yeah right. You couldn't pay me to ever put Firestone tires on any vehicle I own ever again. I tubed the 16.5 inch tires, went to the bush and pulled 16 in. 35 year old white spoke rims off my 250, replaced them with the 16.5s and that's where my 16.5s will remain forever.
It cost me $102 a piece to have the white spokes sandblasted, repainted white powdercoat, $120 for 4 new stainless steel centerpieces and $850 for 4 new Michellin P245/75R16 E10 tires. I mounted them. blackwalls out of course, and put those on the F350. They look great and I've seen none the same on the roads. I like having something nobody else has. I recommend you not return to 16.5 inch wheels. Tires are too expensive and worse yet ... made by Firestone. Research showed me that no European made steel belted radials have had tread separation issues or sidewall issues so that's the way I went.
-- The P6 Pirellies on my sports car were 30 years old, no cracks in the sidewalls, no cracks between the treads so, maybe foolishly, I took that car out for 2 really serious. really fast 50 mile rides before I sold it. These rides were incident free. I never would have done/tried that with North American steel belted radials. Just saying. In the end I had to replace them anyway ... turns out its illegal to sell a car here with rubber that old on it. lol
