I dont think c00n's problem is fuel pressure.
Most times with the lack of fuel the oil slam's the inj's so hard to a point that they Knock without the fuel as a cushion.

Fuel pressure WOT will lets us Know.
I still would also make a run with the EBPS disconnected.
Did you get the EOT up?

havent ordered the thermo yet, the max i hit today was 174 on a good run but as soon as i idled sown or had an easy cruise it dropped back to around 160.

i can try running ebp disconnected but i dont see that causing any probs, it doesnt go above spec at all, but what could it hurt to try.

fuel pressure readings will be monday, got a line on a nice gauge set-up to use for utmost accuracy.

It will cel and over ride the EBPV.
At a set pressure/throttle opening the sensor opens the valve.
In the event of a valve failure (stuck closed, high pressure). The sensor can defuel. Just a WAG, with cold oil the system is in the loop (pcm wise). Could be why the IPR peaks at 1/4 throttle, then add the pressure from a WOT run.

Its a shot in the dark c00n.

ah but you are incorrect there, i understood you wanted to try with the sensor unplugged and my valve is already set up as a brake. the ebp wont defuel the motor, i have had ones that were so coroded that the reading was at the peak of the sensors capability, no check engine light, no defueling, if the sensor becomes bias for any reason on a 7.3 the only thing that will happen is the back pressure valve wont operate. nothing else will happen

That is what is was lead to believe also.
But found to be untrue. Possible superduty thing not OBS? I dont remember. The EBPV system is on with 40*amb and 182*oil, low speed, low load. Shutdown high speed, high load. It will ignore it if out of range (biased 5v). Yours is in range. At around 1.50v (20psi) it will/should cel. At about 4.45v (50 psi) it defuel modes.
All though it should cel/code.
Its the max of 34% thats got me.

Back to the fuel presssure thing to ruleout.

with no chip and no mods it will go well above 20 psi, remember you are running 15 psi stock boost which equates to 29.7 psi ebp, assuming you are not over 15 psi boost pressure.

Yeh. General rule of 2 to 1.
Trying to see how/why the PCM only wants 34% max.
Possible restriction to the drain? This is strange.

Tossed the scan in the truck today.
Stock tune oil cold and hot max IPR was 34%.
A 60 tune jumped the IPR to 46%

So your 34% is the PCM.

So with stock programming it maxed at 34% DC? Just didn't want any more ICP?

Yep! In stock mode it would not give me more than the 34%.
Peaked fast/early and stayed.
The tune say's thats all your gonner get buddy
Been awhile since i tested to see an OEM burn.
34% van feels like a slob!
