Question Brake makes parking lights come on??????????

Whenever I put on the brakes the parking lights and dash lights come on.
Also when my headlights are on the right blinker will not work?
Anybody had this problem or got a solution?
Thanks

Sounds like you have some wires crossed, and maybe a bad ground.

Do you have a trailer wiring pigtail? If so, I'd bet that someone has tied the parking light wire to the right brake light. If not that, you might have a bad bulb on that side. I've seen a bulb go out in such a way that the two filaments touch each other and that complets the circuit. Eletricity takes the shortest route, so if they touched, that would mean when you step on the brakes the brake light energizes the parking light circuit.

Also maybe check you bulbs around. My dad once had a brake light blow and the filament wire kinda touched just enough on the tailight park to make contact and when you'd hit the brakes everything would come.

I seem to be having sorta the same problem just the oppisite of yours. I cant get any tail lights but I noticed tonight that my light on my trailer brake controller lights up just very dim. I allready replaced the 7 way plug. I am gonna look at the tee that taps all the tail lights into the trailer plug. you might check the or your 7way plug may be coroded.

Yupper. What you got going oin is a back feed. Check your bulbs first. It happands more often then you think. Next move onto the triler harness if you have one. I would bet its one of them.

Have you replaced any bulbs recently? The first usual suspect is a monofilament bulb in the place of a dual filament bulb. I've seen so many vehicles light up like UFO's from this.
