Another 460 build ?

Ok, my 79 smogged 460 is needing a upper end rebuild, I have an early 70's Lincoln 460 ready to be rebuilt. I use my truck for towing and hauling and am looking for the best options for towing. Just rebuild the original motor, or get into the Lincoln and build a nice torquey motor.. I already know the answer but I feel like answering it anyway.. What would you build, details please.

how far you going to go into the motor? if your doing a full rebuild (new pistons etc) it makes no differnce on which engine you use, if your Lincoln engine is a 73 or later there really is no difference cause they have the same heads. biggest thing to remember is that most likely the 79 engine is external balanced the early 70s motor is internal so if your running a manual trans you can't just swap the flywheel on them. This might make a difference when you figure your going to have to pay for an aftermarket flywheel or pay to have it balanced to match the rotating assembly if you do decided to change. If your using an auto not as big of a deal just make sure to use the flexplate appropriate to the engine short block you put in.
