Turbo Jet

Took the truck out for a ride today after gutting the EBPV, rebuilding the turbo and shimming the FPR. Got a high pitch whistle in the upper RPM range in third and fourth gear for a few seconds. It sounded like a DC-10 getting ready for takeoff. What would cause that? Did a search but did not come up with much.

Turbo dude. Get used to it. It is the start of something great. You will learn to love that sound and will want more. Get a bigger DP and 4" exhaust and 6637 or similiar intake and it will be like music from the gods.

Got the intake. Downpipe and cat delet on the way. Like I said it just hit in the upper RPM. Will the exhaust mods bring it on sooner?

It will sing at idle like a sweet bluejay or cardinal in the spring morning air. I promise you will like it.

Not being able to hear the turbo w/ the stock intake & exhaust kinda gives you an idea of how restrictive they are.

The turbo is stock. The rebuild kit I used I got from Ron's turbo services on ebay. He sells the kit for about 90 and he will balance your wheels for free. As for the rebuild helping I dout it made much if any differance. The turbo seemed to be in ok condition when I pulled it out to do the ebpv mod. The reson I did the rebuild is because the truck has 112K and I had the turbo out so I figured I might as well do it now. My ony regret Is I did not put a banks wheel on it. Iam sure that would have made a differance.
