starting oddity

It was maybe 15*F this morning, I waited atleast 30secs after the WTS went off to start the engine. It fired one cylinder off then skipped the next, fired another, skip, fired and ran perfect. Later in the day the temp rose to 20*F and it started normal. Has all new beru GPs, rotella syn 5w40. I really dont care, It may be just a quirk, but its nice to know.

Very cold engine. When its really cold and yoour truck has been sitting let your glow plugs stay on alittle longer 1 to 1 & 1/2 min. to heat up the cylinder more before you crank it over, should solve your problem.

I have 1 bad GP and I let them cycle twice ie. 3-4 mins then start. It takes a few seconds for that one cylinder to fire but runs fine. Still don't plug it in yet.

Are you guys nuts? Just plug it in. With cost of fuel these days how much unburnt fuel is going out that exhaust.

I had a similar issue, had one pin that was a little corroded on the UVC harness, after I put new GPs in, still had a starting issue, turned out the one pin was not warming that cylinder up, and it started very similar to what you are describing. I ended up scraping and cleanin the pin with some very small files, been over two years with no issues
