Hey, guys I am new to the powerstroke engine. I always had a 7.3L idi and I don't know quite as much about the powerstroke, but I want to learn. I have heard people talk about shimming the FRP to 75psi and I was wanting to know how to do this? What does it cost? How much is it going to help? And does it just increase the line pressure to the injection pump?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You just need a BB, is the one of the cheapest mod. Search for shim FPR.

You need it to meassure pre and post shimming, end not go more than 80 PSI, the magic number seems to be 75. You can use a Tire guage but is a mess and should be disposable.

If your 97 is a Cali truck do not do the BB mod.
The Cali has the higher fuel pressure.
