CD stuck in 6-CD Player...
I got a brand new Lynyrd Skynyrd CD stuck in the wife's 2002 Escape with the factory 6-CD player.
I believe I put the disc in slot "3", but it doesn't recognize it, and when you try and load more CD's, it says "CD Error".
It had no problem loading the CD, but after that, it's thrown that "CD Error" message.
If it takes busting it apart to get the CD out, I'm all for it... I only want to save it if I can.
Thanks for any insight!

I know your pain
This won't answer your problem, but I thought I'd share- when I bought my used F250 with the 6 disc, it had some cd's stuck in it. It's still under warranty, so I took it to a dealer to get it fixed. They had to order a new one, so my player problem was solved. Then about a month later they got the cd's that were stuck. I was hoping I'd gained some good new music, but it was a couple of Jimmy Buffet and one I'd never heard of, don't even remember what it was.
If I were in your situation, I'd just buy a good aftermarket stereo and open up the factory one to retrieve my cd.

This happens frequently on the 6 disk player in my little Ford Focus.
I keep the radio removal tools in the center console and I've permanently removed the screws that hold the top cover on the radio.
Now when the CD's get jammed up (usually during loading or unloading while the vehicle is moving), it is a 2 minute job to pull the radio out, pop the top off and use a pen or a small screw driver to realign the CD stack.
I have been doing this a couple of times a year for the past 5 years and this unit keeps on playing the CDs.
I'll bet the majority of the factory 6 disk CD players that get tossed could have been easily tuned up this way.
I was suprised how tightly the CD's are stacked inside the unit. Not to mention all the little cogs and plastic worm gears running around inside. Its a mechanical wonder....or nightmare if you can't keep the thing working.
Good luck with it.
