Your next truck?

Since there is a death watch on new production rangers could this be your next truck?
Diesel to boot.

Don't flame me, but this truck looks pretty good. Anyone who thinks that the truck market only goes fullsize is wrong. While I would forego 4 doors in favor of a simple ext. cab with a longer [useful] bed this truck may be the wave of things to come. Will Ford come up with something similar?

id go for a diesel awd van, i run with a cap anyhow, so i dont need the open bed and there is a cost savings on licence plates to have a van over a truck. the more new stuff i see out there the more im convinced to keep my old junk running.

It's not very appealing for the rugged look.

You got that one right. It looks like some sort of pontiac vibe experiment gone terribly wrong. I do like the diesel option.

Most trucks today are too car like.
Don't you miss the days of driving around on bias ply tires.
No power steering and brakes. no ac. manual everything.

I agree that it is way too car like, that's why I made the remark about just an ext. cab. I am no fan of a 4-door cab, the rear swing-out wing is enough. Any bed shorter then 6ft. is useless, just buy a car and a trailer, jeez...
I can assure you that I don't miss bais-ply tires, especially nylon, them d**n things would develope flat spots overnight that would require several miles of thumping until they warmed up. My motorhome STILL has them on it and they suck... big time. Since I have a potential buyer who wants it for their deer camp maybe I won't have to deal with it again. The darn thing shook so bad that you could hardly hold onto the steering wheel. thud, thud, thud, ad-nauseum, cripes!
Not good for a '69 Winnebago, eh!
