Truck info 94 F150 302 maf (factory setup) e4od . Stock timming seting (Up or down does not effect pinging much)

Problems . Thought I got a bad batch of gas was pinging bad and doggy. I added lucas fuel aditive and helped. I was going to was truck and saw the exhaust was soot black . And the pinging is still ther after 3 rd tank.

SO.

The codes I pulled where 12 ,13 Or /-// ,/-//,---- /-///,/-// used Fordfuel injection.com .

The rich could be fuel presure reg right. (did search) Truck has less than 10000 miles on new MDS CAP Rotor ,MDScoil and ford racing wires . I will chance the Motocraft copper core plugs as they have 20000 miles.

So what about the pinging ??? any ideas , I play with these trucka all time and this is the first to give me hassle like this. I have all new electrical sensors on shelf for throtle body ETC.(eBay score) .

Any help would be appriecated.

 

So my IAC may be dirty and or sticking. For the 12 code and the Idle rpm is off for 13 code I figured that much . What of pinging?? This has pinged since bought it and IAC was replaced since. Garage was trying to fix pinging issue. I'' search some more.

 

Vacuum leak could cause lean condition. Are all cylinders pining or just a couple? Pinging all the time or just under a load? how many miles are on it? Bad knock sensor?

 

Try cleaning the maf, check the EGR valve to make sure it isn't stuck open, check for vacuum leaks and check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator to make sure there is no gas in the line.
Also make sure the plug wires aren't arcing.

 

Has 40000 on motor new Ford unit. Pings on hills at higher RPM but is getting worse since last week .
As for vacuum leak tried the propane trick on em and remove checked them already

Wires are near new and routed so none near touch . And there are no arcs after dark and its been humid enough it should show. Thanks guys. It may be next week end before I get everything checked.

 

You need to check the fuel pressure under pinging conditions. You may either have a partially clogged filter or a weak pump.

 

I just replaced filter Yesterday and It still dose on both tanks. The fuel check while running might be fun . I checked fuel on gas at fuel pressure vacuum line . removed and reinstalled all vac line look fine good condition. Tomarow I try to get some cleaner and gasket for EGR . And clean MAF ERG and IAC

 

For checking the fuel pressure while driving I have used a Ford to GM adapter at the fuel manifold and a long R12 A/C hose and a R12 A/C Gauge Manifold.
