Performance Chip

I own a 1995 Ford F250 XLT 4X4, it is set up with a 7.5L(460) with a 4.10 rearend Automatic transmission w/overdrive. What I was hoping to get help with is increasing the gas milage. I've heard that changing out the factory computer chip with a performance chip would not only increase the power but also the milage as well. Is this true' and if so what are the pros and cons? Also what chips is recommended? I've also heard that switching to synthetic oil, trans fluid, etc. also helps. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

The chips primary job is to increase power. Sometimes, but not all the time, you'll gain 1-2 MPG. However, you must run premium so you'll break even on the mileage if you gain any MPG.
