Making Upfitter Switches Hot and Other

I know SOMEONE has tackled this by now, On the 2008 F-250, how does one make the upfitter switches hot all the time, on my 07 it was easy by pulling a relay and putting in a jumper. Can this be done on the 08? If so what relay is to be pulled?
Also, has anyone tackled the job of making the chime quit while the key is still in? I had done this on the previous generation by pulling the ignition out and disabling the little brass contacts, on the 08 looks like a whole different animal in the steering column area.. any simple solution??

Not to hijack the post, but do you have a description of how to make them always hot on a 2007. I have some accessories i want to hook to them, but I need them to work when the truck is off.

Thanks

Yes, I can sure help you out there, it is really very simple.
Pull off the cover under your steering wheel, you will see your fuse box cover kinda to the left side , on the cover is the map of the fuses and relays, pull the cover off and find relay 305, it is in the middle row of relays, pull that relay out and just save it.
now make you a jumper that goes from the top vertical slot to the bottom horiz slot
where that relay was plugged in, you can get some male crimp on adapters from any auto supply place, just takes a very short piece of wire,
just plug one end in the top vertical slot and the other in the bottom horiz slot and you are good to go, the upfitter switches will be hot all the time....

Now If someone knows which relay to pull on the 2008 models......

I just looked into this and so far I don't see a relay to remove and jump as in previous years. What I have found is this.

1. Pull out the Upfitter switch's
2. Open the harness a little and located the solid green wire.
3. Cut the green wire and extend the SWITCH half, either find a 10A fused constant source or install an inline fuse holder (10A) and tap a larger constant.
4. Insulate the other half of the green wire so it cannot ground out on anything.
5. Enjoy!

I hope someone will come up with something, surely there is one we can jump, they just moved things around on the 08's, This is an smart group, I know someone knows the trick,
Also the trick to make the key dinger not ding when the key is in the ignition and the door is open, That was an easy fix on the other generation, don't know about the new ones. But I bet someone has come up with a solution and will let us know
Thanks

Hello all this is my first post. Just my 2 cents worth to CFD29.I know the dinger is annoying but if you cut the wire in the ignition switch your ignition will disable the feature that automatically unlock your drivers door lock when you accidently push your lock button and close you door with your truck running at the boat ramp at 2:00 AM in the morning.LOL Hello honey sorry to wake you"

Red face Oh My

Dutchman24g, if you are correct, then we all owe you a huge THANKS for your post. Nothing more troubling than locking yourself out while the motor is running. Worse yet, if your 3 year is in there and the race tune is loaded in the PCM... LOL

Yes, on the previous generation SD you could just bend down the contacts in the switch and everything would still work, even the driver door thing, but anyway, with the keypad on the outside of the door, I never worry about locking the key in the truck, as long as you dont forget your code to get back in.....
I really dont want to cut any wires .. Thought there could be a way to get into the ignition switch easily...

Check out the Tech folder in this forum (the first thread). If you look through there you can find the link to a thread that has instructions with pictures.
