Need some Photoshop done
I don't have access to photoshop nad I'm thinking of painting the grille on my truck black to match the panels around the headlights. I'm also considering painting it red so if someone could just do a quick photoshop as to what it would look like I would appreciate it.

The red would stand out more and be unique. I don't think It would look too bad either. To me, black always looks good, but doesn't really give the truck a unique look.
coloring in the shell, gives me an idea of what my shell might look like black. I have a shell in good shape, but has the 30 year old pits and marks. I would cost more to refinish the shell than to just buy a new one, but I thought I could paint the shell black.

I think that we all should let the OWNER of the vehicle decide what to do with HIS vehicle haha. Not everyone is into restoring to showroom condition....variation is ok and heck is sometimes even good.
Now before all these people get on my case for saying that...I only mention it because he did not ask for input on if he should or not...only help in seeing what it would look like. I say let him figure out if its what he wants or not...then give him input. Just a thought...

I agree with to each his own. It is HIS truck, so let HIM build the way HE wants it.
In a few cases I agree with returning a car to showroom (or original race team) condition. Say a birdcage Maserati for example. No sense in dropping a 302 in an old, rare car. But changing grill color on a truck that can be found all over the place...
I've often wondered what the grill shell would look like black as well. I highly doubt I'd do it, but I'd be interested to see what it looks like - without going through the effort of painting my spare.
