I too am a fan of the 223. Good for you to build it up. I know my 223 has been very durable and dependable. I drove it 2 blocks with a broken oil pump drive (see post from a long time ago) with no adverse affects.
Mine is stock with a newly purchased pertronix waiting on the bench in the garage and i have been watching ebay for a header. These are my only planned mods.
I get 20 to 21 on the highway (imperial miles per gal)
