Reman Engine with a few ?'s
Well I am in need of another 390 but this time just a stock one. The cheapest one I found was 1500.00 from S&S. But just for giggles I contacted my friend who works at one of the oldest ford dealerships around here. They happen to have a Genuine Ford remanufactured 390 they want 1200.00 but if I forgoe the warranty they will take 900.00. would this just be asking for problems? The tag says May 2 1990 , is it just to old to use? Should I maybe put new valve stem seals in the heads? Its called a long block on the tag but has the intake manifold , valve covers , timing chain cover and oil pan already installed so it has not been exposed to dust.

GPD engines didn't come with the manifold and valve covers. It's not too old to use, if you don't want it, I know someone that does. Wonder if someone was building something, then left the dealership. Trying to think of the oldest dealer in your area (Norcal). Must be in N off 33.
not sure if its GPD it has a green and white tag with a ford logo in the center that says authorized remanufactured engine. the engine was for a 76 f-350 that was never paid for so the engine was never installed. one fo the oldest dealers around here is Bill Brandt Ford
