best sct file/tune for mpg around town and highway?
#16
I am running the performance tune on the lemonwire, which is the same as the performance tune on the xcal2. I am averaging 1-1.5mpg better running the performance tune mixed city and country stop and go driving. I have not taken a straight interstate trip to check pure highway miles. I have not been able to get a custom tune due the lemonwire being released prior to the firmware being written to upload custom tunes. I am not really interested in extreme performance, but a bulletproof towing file, and a all around performance/mileage tune. Matt at LIPD can write one for you, but it will take a little tweeking and trial and error, as he has total control over all the parameters in the file. Just the tune aspect and user options of the lemonwire, I could not be more happy with. It is the pos monitor and pid measurements I have a gripe with.

mrxlh, what issues are you having w/ the livewire??? I have the edge juice now and I like the visuals w/out having to buy the gages. I here a lot of good things about the sct and i was excited to hear about the livewire having the gage readouts....now i hear you call it the lemonwire....just would like to know why?

Opps, that's right you’re going to have to take it to the dealer. The programmer guy says it not his fault, take the programmer out and take it to the dealer so they won't know you modified it. That's real decent and honest of him to suggest that!!
BTW: I will give $1,000.00 to the Programmer/Chip Company that will increase my Fuel mileage by 2 MPG!! Any way it can be done without cutting the stock power level. It would be worth it for me because it would pay for itself in under a year!!

What is the new P132B code?
Answer:
P132B is a new P-code that was added to monitor turbocharger performance. There are 3 new PIDs
that indicate what operating mode the code was set in, these are:
Ë P132B_STK sets during the learn mode
o Verify that the turbocharger learn has successfully completed VGTVP_LE > 5 and
VGTVP_OK = yes and check the learned values to make sure that they are within a
correct range
o Run through the normal KA test to verify the turbocharger is actually sticking
Ë P132B_CM is a continuous monitor
Sticking or stuck turbocharger
o This would be caught by a P132B, P0299, or P2262, all turbocharger issues must be
verified with a KA test prior to turbocharger change.
FYI and FWIW these aren't caused by the SCT either.
No one can guarantee fuel mileage because of the indivuduality of any particular driver, but if you're not able to take good programming (not that stock crap) and get 2 mpg more then CHANGE YOUR DRIVING STYLE cause it isn't the tuner it's you're right foot and that silly 6.0 grin on your face.

My 6.0s are stock. If I wanted to change my driving style I would. But that wouldn’t change the overall Fuel Mileage of the trucks very much because I check fuel mileage the right way, over a long period. At least 1,000 miles and I keep long term records. Most of my trucks usage is highway miles. Miles Per Engine Hours is 50.462 average is around 35. Actually, if you drive the same way with every kind of tuner one will have better Fuel consumption properties. NONE of them will out perform Stock. I’m willing to put my money up to prove that. All I’m looking for is 2 MPG better then Stock with stock Power.
The offer still stands!! $1,000.00
