I have a 96 250 4x4 (powerstroke).. & i'v searched the web and custom shops around here trying to figuer out how to rig a front tow hook or cleavis to the drned thing ..any suggestions or links would be most appreciated ..I find myself hunting in the Rockies more & more & one of these days I'm gonna need a tug out ..lukily till now I'v been the tugger ..hopefully will not need it but just incase I really dont want to hook a chain to my front shackle

 

have you considered a front hitch mount?
then you can install a clevis or even a winch.

 

Uh....you buy generic tow hooks from any source (from WARN to JC Whitney) drill a couple of holes in your frame or bumper mounts and bolt them in with some grade 8 bolts............or am I missing something here?

 

yea redford you missing something I think .. there are no holes or access to the frame exceptn a slight area between the from shackle & the bumper .. I need a long tow hook & cant fint the length that I need....look at an old body styled heavy duty & you'll see what I mean ..I'v not seen one with a tow hook aftermarket or stock & I live in Farm country with plenty of these things running aroundit a.

And no I really dont want to spend the $200 from Warn for a front hitch
