2005 F350 V10 4x4, 65k miles

Getting ready to do a brake job. Truck's towing duties include pulling the family camper up and down the Rockies of Wyoming & Colorado. I was wondering what you all like for quality brake pads?

 

Although I'm surrounded by mountains where I live I went with Wagner Thermo Quiet pads since I don't do any towing right now, just camping gear and dogs in the back. However, if I was towing in the moutains like you are I would probably go with Hawk or Motorcraft Severe Duty pads, I've heard great things about both brands. I'm sure someone who does more towing will chime in with their recomendations based on their experience.

 

Thanks Northwindone! I've been looking at the Motorcrafts, myself. I looked into the Hawks too, but coldn't find much info for my application. I'll keep digging.

Anyone else have an opinion/personal experience they could share?

 

A Lot of people like the Hawk SD brake pads with drilled and slotted rotors. Tons of people in the Super Duty side love them. Just do a search for brake pad recommendation in the Super Duty forum and you'll have tons of reading material
