Flathead motor with Mustang II suspension?

Flathead motor with Mustang II suspension?
Has anyone installed an aftermarket IFS and kept the original flathead V8 motor? All the IFS kits I have looked at use motor mounts for a newer v8. I checked with a few suppliers and they say they "think" it would work with some fabrication. Surely someone has addressed this combination of motor and suspension. I want the IFS but I also want to keep my flathead.

I've found that their tech help is sometimes good, sometimes bad. I bought their bolt in motor mount kit, and had a question about the need to remove the stock mount. After trying to explain my situation to someone who obviously hadn't seen an F-1 mount, I asked for another rep, who was very knowledgable about our trucks.
Back to the original question. After looking at CE's catalog, I'm not sure that that F-1 used a completly stock motor mount. The engine side was the stock water pump mount, but now I'm not sure about the chassis side of the mount. I had to remove the stock, quarter circle chassis mounts when I installed my motor mount kit, and those mounts would be in the same location on their (or anyones) MII crossmember. It's apparent that I didn't pay close enough attention to that F-1, and I don't want to mislead you. I found an old (nov 05) Custom Classic Trucks magazine that featured an F-1 with a flattie, the owner used a volare setup. I'm sure someone will be along soon with a better answer.

Hi mweaver
I am installing a Fatman MII suspention on my 53 F100. My mounts are different than on the earlier F1, therefore I am not familiar with your mounts. I didn't order motor mounts when I ordered my kit. I hope to use the stock 53 mounts if I can or fabricate my own.
Another thing you should consider is your oil pan clearance. The stock oil pan will not fit after the new crossmember is in place. I plan on modifying my oil pan and oil pickup tube to get enough clearence.
