04 F-250 v-10..stalls when brakes are applied
this is my dads truck..he bought it new and it has about 23,000miles on it now..and once in awhile it will stall when he presses the brakes..it has only done it 5 times since new..any ideas..i told him about the iac valve..called the dealer and they said that was odd....Thanks Chris...he is thinking about trading it in for a powerstroke....and this truck is like brand new.....

When the brakes are applied?
WHEN? When he's drivin' down the road and touches the brakes? It dies?
Or when he's at a stop light....oh wait...he'll be on his brakes for a bit coming to the stop light. So it does BEFORE becomes to a stop?
OR does it die while sitting at a stop? Not when in Neutral or Park but when in gear and the brake is applied.
So when/how exactly does this happen?

Initially sounds to my like IAC going south but could be trany logic not disengaging the lock up torque converter fast enough... this can be due to low or wrong trany fluid or looses trans umbilical connector... I have seen this more then once on relatively new PSD versions...
vacuum leak in brake booster is usually not intermittant... it either has a good seal or it does not... but I have seen some weird things in the past so it is worth considering also
IAC first
Trans fluid type and level
Trans electrical
All electrical grounds
Brake boost system
this is the order I would troubleshoot
