Total redo on the paint

Total redo on the paint
I need some pointers.
My truck could do with a good paint job. The actual finish on the truck as it stands now is perfectly suitable, with the exception of a 10" patch of paint that flaked off when water got under the paint from a rock chip (been repaired) the paint is perfectly fine. It is however perfectly - white
So assuming I do this sometime next summer, what should I look for in a paint shop? I don't have a clue as to how much a QUALITY paint job would cost, and if I'm gonna get a paint job it will be an elaborate one. Change the base coat, multi-blended color, stuff like that. I remember my poor Grandmother (rest her soul) took her Corsica to Maaco and got ripped off badly - but it only cost like a 100 bucks of something.
What am I looking at, an insane amount?

For a quality paint job, expect to pay for it. Actual cost will vary depending on color, detail, and the amount of prep needed. But you could expect a grand or more for a color change. If you do a color change, be sure to specify that you want the vehicle "jammed", which means spraying inside the doorjams, under the hood, and various other hidden areas. Many times you can save money by doing the majority of the prep yourself so the shop only has to do a final sand and clean to get ready for paint.

For what is in quotes, to get this job from a quality shop will run 2 K to 3 k easily. Total color changes are a lot of work, lot of materials and labor used. Paint colors/type will dictate price too. I painted my own truck, but still ended up with over 2 K in paint and materials. Pics in my gallery and I am still adding them, good luck jmo
