I don't have a ton of experience on these things yet, however... I did snag an F5 chip from DP-Tuner, and holy crap what a difference! My Ex is basically stock motor-wise minus the exhaust and a WW from Clay, and I just made the drive from north Washington state to south Houston, and it took 3 3/4 tanks to go 2614 miles. Roughly 16.9mpg, which I think is pretty damn good for 5 tons of fun, the third row out and loaded to the ceiling with luggage going 80-85 on cruise through mountains on 35's with stock gears.
Just like any other vehicle, overall power and mpg increases will vary greatly based on driving style, vehicle condition and maintenance, and modifications. I usually average right around 20.6 hand calculated on the highway if I keep it below 2000rpm and just cruise. My current vehicle setup is in my signature, 207k on the clock. I just put the chip in at 204k right before the drive to Texas.
Haven't done any long distance towing other than my Chevelle and a friend's Bug around town, but the chip has transformed the Ex into a new machine. The 80 Eco tune is good for towing 5-8k on flat land IIRC, and the rig didn't even notice the tandem axle and 3700lb of car behind it through town. I'm sure with the 60 Tow it would be even better.

I use bully dog triple dog diesel GT.
Gives me plenty of extra power, increases my MPG (tow mode). they are canned tunes and a lot of people don't like that but it does the job for me.
It also has gauges so I get to keep an eye on things without spending extra

is that 1 million 800 thousand Miles or 180 thousand Miles because if its the first one there must be some kind of special club for your X
As For a Chip I was looking at this from Riffraff Diesel
TS Performance 6 Position Chip w/ Tunes - Riffraff Diesel Performance
