Headers for 351 Windsor in a 77' F100

I just wanted to know if long tube headers for the later model F-100/150(1980-96) with the 5.8L windsor would work on a 1977 F100 with a 351w(5.8). I have been tempted to buy a set for a later model that offered the 351w as an option to see if it would fit my truck with out having to notch the frame but never made it that far. The only thing that I see different in the engine bay of the early 80's models is that the steering gear box has been moved towards the front at the radiator.

Thanks

We also have an extra crossmember between the front cab mounts. I used Mustang style shorty headers with my 351.

They will probably be too short to clear since the 351W is taller and wider.
I put a set of 73-79 302 headers on a 80 F150 and had to really do some hammer work to make them fit. I'd say that the 80-96 351W will probably not clear the frame correctly.

I figured that there wasn't much of a change with the early 80's frame and when they did come with a 5.8 from the factory I figured that it may work for the late 70's trucks other then the steering gearbox relocation on the early 80's model. Has anybody tried 5.8L headers from an early 80's truck on a late 70's model truck?

P.S.

Loudfords.... I just looked in your gallery and I like the setup you have with the headers. Do you know what the model number of the headers are? That looks like the answer to my question. I was originally looking for some long tube headers but I like how those look. I don't know if MAC has changed the style of those particular shorty headers or if they have remained the same. Let me know if you can.
Thanks.

I think they're part number E508692. Will try to check the box next time I'm at the shop.

Checked on Saturday, that is indeed the part number for the headers I used.
