Man out here in Southern CA there are countless small fab shops and suspension guys doing the prerunner thing. Did you look around on the internet? there must be some shops selling bent beams and stuff cheaper than AutoFab, I spent a fortune there a few years ago, great stuff but pricey to say the least.

I run 12.00 x 33 16.5" on the rear and 9.50 x 16.5" up front on a stock heigth 68 CS. The 9.50's are the same heigth as the 12.00 rears. No clearance problems, adjusted steering stops to within 3/16" of the radius rods to tighten the turning radius.
If I had to "must have a lift" I would cut the drop between the beam and kingpin eye and replace with a straight section, this will give you 2 1/4" lift.
Chamfer all weld joints to within 1/8" of a point, Tig weld and heat treat, it will be as strong as a one piece forged beam with the proper caster and camber.
This would be a intresting, cheap project as labor would be free, I have a Tig welder.
I bet this will start a welded joint strength flame war, but then it's JMO's from working with structural steel welders.

Hey,
Here is one install.
look here for god-boots (Ethans) lift.
Here is a thread that you should read.
I have done the flip. I am still tweaking around to get out all the bugs. I explain in great detail why just a flip will not work without major bending of the I-beams. This is where Autofab comes in. They heat, bend, calibrate stock beams to work.
Ethan has an awesome idea for just lifting. Although he bought longer springs. The other photo (sorry I can't remember his name) has a good idea for stock springs. Just add to your pivot brackets and a piece under the springs and your done.
My way has been tough, to say the least. I had more time than money and I wanted to do something some (even me at one time) said couldn't be done.
When I am done I hope to post some new ideas for adustments of each variable ie. caster and camber.
