351M cranks, all drilled for manual tranny?

Hey guys, it has been a long time since I have had much of chance to get online to see the forums.....I did a search, but I could not get specific enough to find an answer.....

I have a 351 M out of a 78 that has a four speed. ( I want to use this four speed)

I Bought another 351M (don't know what it had for a tranny), and I would really like to use the four speed on this new motor.....as I have all of the parts, and the new truck is already set up for a manual transmission.

My question is, are all 351M cranks set up for a manual transmission, or is there anything else I can do to make it work, without pulling the engine apart, and having the crank drilled?

Also can you please tell me what I should be looking for specifically on the crank,in the new to me engine, to know if I can use the four speed with it.....

Thanks all for your help.

All ford V8 cranks can be used with either manual or auto. NO difference. With a manual, you just need the pilot bearing/bushing in the rear for the trans input shaft.
