9" rearend swap help
#16
i'll say this even though i'm not known for it myself . but patience grasshopper !!! i have been looking for a 9 inch , for the better variety of gears available not the strength issue as the 44 holds it's own . i also seen a thread on here about swapping all the internals out of a new 44 into my old one so was also following that lead too . well i had a buddy who was scrapping a 1/2 truck / trailer , a 68 furd , and he gave me the 9 inch for one of my extra 44's for the weight when he scraps . hate to see an old part go to the junkyard in the sky but .... so be patient and wait it will , the right deal , present itsself eventually .

I have an 89 f150 supercab. 300 i6 with a 5 sp 4x4 the tag on the rear says s806d, and the other number says 08 88 9b22. A friend gave me a rear that he broke, the shaft for the spider gears snapped, The tag on that rear says s838j, and the other number is 355 88 4h08, are the gears interchangable and do you know which set would be better for my application. I have a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires. I use this truck for daily driving and mudding. Any help would be highly appreciated. Also how do I start my own thread.
