Smile Subwoofer install on supercrew

I custom built a sub enclosure for my supercrew. I put some pics in my gallery so take a look I used mdf and fiberglassed to the truck it was not fun but turned out nice 12's definetly fit if you want to do the work my seats fit back in perfectly but the previous owner had a box under the seat and the floor braces are gone if anyone has some I would gladly pay for them. There was no room for anything under the seat he must of had 8's cause tens were not fitting and I wanted the seats to function.I dont like the downfire the boxes are to small and there is nowhere to put the amp I wanted it to look like a part of the truck. So now I can fold the seats down and it looks nice and sounds good.I installed a pioneer head unit and new sony door speakers I am very pleased I have a grand total of $580.00 in this system the head unit is plenty of power for the doors.I will post more pics and details if anyone is interested.Appreciate Ya!!

I have an '01 XLT Crew Cab Diesel 4x4, and was struggling with the same space issue. I just ordered a Kenwood SW1 - it has 2 6" woofers, and an onboard amp (150watts). It is only 3" tall, so I intend to put it under the seat. Might end up with 2, not sure yet. It was 250 at crutchfield, but I found it on ebay for 130 + 40 shipping.

Not intending to rattle the place, just to add some bass. I liked it because it has an adjustment **** that you can mount on the dash, and shut it down essentially. This should prove handy for when I have my kid in the car.

Havent received it yet, but will let you know when I get it.

I am interested in putting in the CD6 head unit, anyone have one that they want to part with?

actually they are 1.1 and filled with polyfill it really worked well because of the rear cab it has internal baffle chambers it hits really hard and the pioneer deck runs the new sony door speakers to the max volume with no distortion and the amp is run in standard 2 channel stereo to the subs.I was more than impressed because I am a big pearl jam and tool fan it is perfect set up.I am working on my 2wheel truck now and using 10's complete sony speakers and amp with the same deh3700 pioneer head unit I paid $148.00 for the deck its best for the money cause of the mp3 and remote.THanks for the comment .I did alot of custom installs when I was a teenager so it has been a while but I did alright but its funny how things have changed in 15 years some of the top brands now were generic junk back then but you can never go wrong with pioneer decks for clarity and its also multi colored and looks factory at night.appreciate ya!

1.1, that is nice, I bet they really hit hard. I have a DEH3700 in my truck and the next one up for my wife van. Wasn't too impressed with the MP3 and WMA stuff until I installed it in my truck, I absolutely love it now, I only carrry 3 cds and they have all the music on them that I care to listen to. Once again sweet system. I am in the same boat, 10 years ago it just had to be loud and low, now I just like overall good sound.

Quick question what size are the door speakers. I just blew mine and need to replace them. And do you think two eights will fit under the rear seats. I have to eclipse 8's I could make a box for. I am looking like you say for quality not boom. I am not a hip hop fan and that is what boom is good for.

Doors are 5x7s, You can make a box to fit about anywhere you want it to. I model my box after the JL stealth box in the center console. I have two RF 8s, sounds great through out the entire cab.
