Please HELP...What EXACTLY is a Snow Plow Prep package??? I just ordered a 2006 F-350 from Ford and got an extra $500 rebate by ordering the Snow Plow Prep package which cost about $85 netting me over $400 in savings. I got the V10 by the way. Thanks!

It's a prep package for installing a snow plow.

Just kidding. A typical snowplow prep package from the factory may consist of heavy duty front springs and shock absorbers, power steering cooler and the light wiring harness. Ford's "86M" option code includes computer selected springs (850# max snow plow weight,) including 100# permanent attachment limit, 140-amp alternator, and a unique fan clutch.

 

Some of those are for the PSD ONLY, I attached the link to the actual Ford ordering guide that shows the break down for the option packages.

 

Oh yeah... that's very cool. changed the 350 in that link to 250 and I got the same document for my 250 :-)

 

Yea I have used that thing to understand exactly what I was buying, helps to know more than the salesman sometimes.
