How to drain gas tank

I have a full tank of gas (put Bronco in storage) and it has developed a leak. How do you drain tank? It feels like there is a check ball in the filler tube that prevents the siphon tube from going in. 1988, rust never sleeps.

The inner plastic vent tube may be kinked like mine was. The tank has no drain plug, so if you cannot siphon it out, try removing the filler tube and then the hose from the tank. Then you can use your siphon tube directly in the tank. I would still use a floor jack and some supports to lower the tank, and remove all lines and wire connections.

If it runs, just use it until just a very little left. If all else fail, you can remove a full tank, you just need to be extra careful.

I saw a post some time ago where someone suggested that you take the fuel filter off and let the electric pump run to empty the tank.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I thought about just driving it around, however it would take too much time and with my luck I would end up stranded somewhere. I did manage to force a smaller diameter tube down the filler neck. Took almost as much time as driving around, fuel gauge reads "E". Now I will let the fumes dry so I can begin the fun process of cutting off bolts. Any ideas on replacing with poly or steel tank? Is there a replacement skid plate available, or do you just use straps.

I replaced mine with a plastic tank from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. No more rust in that department for me!
