Where is the CTS

Where is coolant temp sensor and which manual should I buy to work on a 2000 5.4. (Haynes or Chilton) ? The truck has 100000 on it now and I know I am going to have to do things to it from time to time.

It's under the intake manifold.
I would suggest a manual on cd-rom or dvd. They you can look up what you need and print off what you need without having to lug a book around.
But if you prefer a book, the Haynes manuals aren't too bad. Most auto parts stores sell them.

The one under the intake manifold is the cylinder head temperature sensor. The coolant temperature sensor is mounted on top of the coolant crossover on one side. One side of the crossover will have the sensor and the other side a plug.

Depends on which one he needs. The cyl head temp sending unit is what the gauge reads.

You might want to try e-bay. Someone is always selling the CDs there.
